Unsettling Knowledge on Gendered & Sexual Violence Psychology project

University_of_Cape_Town_logo.svg.png

The project broadly aims to conduct research that centres the experience of all cis and trans women, as well as marginalised genders, including non-binary folks. Acknowledging cis, trans women, and non-binary people and their experiences of patriarchy and misogyny, the project works to shift the ways of thinking about and doing research on gender-based and sexual violence. Under the supervision of Professor Floretta Boonzaier, the project aims to impact not only the ways we teach approaches to research on violence against women and non-binary folks but also the ways we think about the purpose of this research itself and the benefits that might be derived from it.
